Project Comic Con: Thank you everyone!

I want to give a BIG thank you to everyone who stopped by my table this weekend at the St. Louis Project Comic Con! You all helped make my first comic convention (from the other side of the table) a huge success! I will post more photos soon, but you can check them out on Frik’s Facebook fanpage and my Google+ page in the meantime! (I have to play with blog photo gallery plugins to find one I like before they come on the site here.)

So some things to note about the convention this weekend.

1) Biggest seller for hand drawn artwork was Frik as Spongebob. (sold 2 of them)

2) Biggest surprise is that only 4 people scanned the QR code on my “Keeper Of The Ketchup” standee to get some wisdom.

3) Funnest moment was having a guy buy my Frik as Green Lantern drawing (with Frik saying, “I own 5 lanterns, does that make me special?”) and then showing it to his wife, who is dressed up as Green Lantern, and reading that to her and watching her give me the death glance because I apparently insulted her fandom by having Frik say that. I called her on it and she eventually realized what she did and laughed.

4) Only one commission this weekend (didn’t really advertise it) was a friend from highschool came and wanted me to draw Frik as Alex from Clockwork Orange. Thanks again Shane for that!

5) My goal was to make enough to pay for the table at least and I did that, so I’m quite happy with how the weekend turned out.

6) Made many many people laugh when I gave the elevator pitch to the comic as well as why I drew Frik in various cosplay outfits to annoy him. Unfortunately not all the laughs turned to sales, but the primary reason for this was to promote the comic so I feel I did that wonderfully.

7) Met many talented people that I would love to keep in touch with in the future!
